ON THE ROAD: Historic National Road – Coming to Vandalia! 

Vandalia is once again taking its place on the historic map! Join us on April 10 as the Illinois Association of Museums brings On the Road to our community, celebrating the legacy of the Historic National Road right here in Illinois’ former capital.

Morning Workshop | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Held at the Kaskaskia College Education Center (2310 West Fillmore, Vandalia), this free marketing workshop is designed for museums, libraries, park districts, and cultural organizations. Learn practical tools and fresh strategies for storytelling, advertising, and promotion in today’s AI-driven world. Bonus: Lunch is provided for registrants! 

 Afternoon “Museum Hop” | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
The community is invited to explore Vandalia’s historic treasures, including:
• National Road Museum
• Vandalia Statehouse
• Historical Vandalia Fayette County Museum
• Additional local sites

Spend the afternoon walking through the chapters of Illinois history that unfolded right here in Vandalia. 

This is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors alike to experience why Vandalia truly is Where History Lives and Progress Thrives.
