Join the City of Greenville for this super fun and educational experience for the whole family!

Participating in Museum Day are:

Bock Sculpture Museum - 219 E. College Ave., home to the work of world-renowned sculptor Richard W. Bock, who often partnered with Frank Lloyd Wright.  Kids can enjoy free facepainting from 9 to Noon that day on the museum’s porch.

Bond County Museum - 409 S. 4th St., where the story of Bond County is told through unique artifacts including a Civil War room where a guide will portray Union Col. John B. Reid.  Youngsters can meet Elsa the Ice Queen and Sparky the Firehouse Dog, and see a vintage fire truck.

DeMoulin Museum - 205 S. Prairie St., spotlights the history of DeMoulin Bros. and Co., a 131-year-old local industry, through unique artifacts including colorful marching band uniforms and wacky lodge initiation devices.  Visitors that day can enjoy free caricatures from 10 to noon, vintage sewing machine demonstrations from 9 to noon, and BBQ food stand and lemon shakeup tent.   

American Farm Heritage Museum - 1395 Museum Ave., is comprised of several museums and attractions including the Lil’ Red Barn, providing a look at rural life of yesteryear; Hill’s Fort, a replica of an early 1800s fort with working blacksmith; and the Heritage Railroad, where those of all ages can enjoy riding the 15” gauge train on a one-mile track.  In celebration of Museum Day, the first fifty kids will ride the train for free, courtesy of Thacker Insurance in Greenville.

Admission to the museums is free, however, donations are welcome.  Some of the additional activities may have a fee.  Complimentary shuttle bus service to all of the participating museums will be available.  Shuttle parking can be found at the American Farm Heritage Museum and the municipal lot at 2nd and South Street.
