Neighborhood Co-op Grocery Farm Crawl Set to Happen Early September

The Farm Crawl is an annual agri-tourism event, with all event proceeds going to benefit Food Works, a local non-profit organization facilitating the development of a regional food economy in southern Illinois. Local farmers open up their farms to share a bit of their lives with the community. Visitors tour farms, see demonstrations, and learn about how food and other agricultural products are produced. It is a great way to connect with the local growers that sustainably supply our region and work hard to make it an amazing place to live.

Car passes are available for pre-order by visiting https://www.neighborhood.coop/farm-crawl. They may also be purchased at Co-op starting Friday, August 25, 2023 at any checkout register. Don't delay, as we only have a limited number of passes available. This event is a self-guided tour and will require your own transportation.

Single day car passes are $15. Visit the area of your choosing: Northwest Region or Central Region.

Multi-day (Flex) passes are $25. Use them either day (or both days) to access up to 17 local farms!

Please note: Northwest farms will tour on Saturday, September 9, ONLY.

Central farms will tour on Sunday, September 10, ONLY.

The Crawl is open from 1-6 pm on both days. When you buy a pass, you will receive an event bag, which includes items from our sponsors, along with an event booklet guide. You can choose to pick up your event bag at the Neighborhood Co-op or you can choose to have it shipped directly to your door if ordered by August 23rd.

Farmers volunteer 100% of their time to help us raise funds and awareness about the food system in our area, share the ups and downs about farming, along with vast knowledge about what they do. We can't thank them enough for participating in this unique experience of the sustainable food economy in Southern Illinois.

We are excited to share 17 farms participating this year:

Northwest Region, Saturday, Sept. 9, 1pm-6pm

Alidon Alpacas, Fort de Chartres Jardin Potager, Illinois Country Harvest, Krause Elk Farm, Lieferbräu Brewery, PDR Hemp Co. and Salger's Ostrich Farm

Central Region, Sunday, Sept. 10, 1pm-6pm

All Seasons Farm, Angie's Farm, Bison Bluff Farm, Bloom Ridge Farm, Flyway Family Farm, La Colina Linda, Rolling Oak Alpaca Ranch, Scratch Brewing Company, U of I Extension: Jackson County and Wichmann Vineyard
