On Sunday, June 13 from noon-5 p.m., enjoy a Sunday drive through the “French Colonial Corridor” along the middle of the Mississippi River valley. Whether you begin your journey near Prairie du Rocher, IL or Ste. Genevieve, MO, these gardens and sites are sure to provide inspiration and enjoyment. This annual garden tour is a collaboration effort between the historic garden sites of Prairie du Rocher, IL and Ste. Genevieve, MO, sponsored by the Foundation for the Restoration of Ste. Genevieve and Les Amis de Fort de Chartres. The first tour was held in 2016, but the Illinois side of the tour had to be canceled due to flooding concerns in 2019 and again last year due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. The tour can be offered once again on both sides of the river in 2021 and we look forward to welcoming visitors during the tour to share our Illinois Country French Colonial garden heritage. This event is free and open to the public. The Fort de Chartres Trading Post will be open Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Ste. Genevieve will be hosting their French Heritage Festival on June 12. Please join us as we jointly celebrate our French heritage in the Illinois Country.
