100 Year Anniversary of Fort de Chartres!

100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF FORT DE CHARTRES as a State Park and re-dedication of bronze plaque presented to Fort de Chartres in 1919 by the Society of Colonial Dames. SATURDAY OCT. 5TH, 2019. 10 AM TILL 4 PM. Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fort de Chartres as a state park by rededicating the bronze plague presented to the Fort on October 10, 1919 by the Illinois Chapter of Colonial Dames. In addition to the re-dedication ceremony, there will be 1920's era music and an antique automobile demonstration. A collection of vintage material, photos and documents from the first 100 years of the park's history will be on display and re-enactors dressed in early 20th century clothing will be on the grounds. You are encouraged to wear 1920 clothes but it is not required. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited so bring a lawn chair and there will be no food or drink available onsite. Souvenir T-Shirts will be for sale during the event. All proceeds benefit Les Amis du Fort de Chartres a not-for-profit organization that supports Fort de Chartres.
